String Change Diary — Features & How to Use

Keeping a record of your string changes helps you track tone changes and instrument condition. All entries are stored only in this device's browser.

How to add an entry

1
Enter the change date — Today's date is selected by default.
2
Enter the instrument, string type, and gauge — Instrument names you've entered before are remembered as suggestions, making them easier to pick next time.
3
Add entry — It's added to the list, sorted with the newest date first.

Two kinds of day counts

Days since shows how many days have passed from that change to today. Interval from previous is the number of days between that change and the previous change for the same instrument, giving you a sense of your replacement pace.

Signs it's time to change strings

Each instrument's summary shows the average replacement interval and the days elapsed since the last change. Compared against a typical string lifespan guideline (roughly 45–75 days), it's shown in green (still fine), yellow (getting close), or red (overdue). This is only a guideline, so trust your ears and feel over the numbers.
